- Our ancestors of long, long ago ate three meals every day namely - Breakfast, dinner and supper.
Porridge was the usuall food for Breakfast. Meat was eaten for dinner either pork, mutton or beef. The poor people very seldom had meat at all.
They ate oat - meal cakes, butter and milk for supper. Those cakes were baked on gridirons.
They also made a lot of curious foods and drinks. They made drinks called Flommery and Prasán. Flommery was the juice of oatmeal and Prasán was oat - meal weted with milk and taken raw. They made a food called boxty. Boxty was raw potatoes(continues on next page)- Collector
