- (continued from previous page)Butter-milk is used for making bread. Boiling water is used in making a churning to heat the milk. There was once a beggar man who went to a house where they were churning and did not take the churning-dash. He went up to the fire and lit his pipe and went out again. When the women went to take the butter out of the churn, there was no butter in it, and it is said that the beggar had the butter with him.
