    A man named Murphy was a famous jumper. The soldiers were after him he used to jump a seven foot high wall. He said he jumped a river 8 yards broad. He lived in Mannin, Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo.
    Mick an Mhanghaire and Punch Boyle were famous fighters. They were both from Raith, Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo.
