And when in prison close confined before my trial day.
My loving wife she came to me and thus to me did say.
O John dear John cheet up your heart and daunted do not be
For tis better to die ten thousand death than betray your country.
I said my darling wife it grieves me to hast from you
Likewise my tinder babes, alas, what will they do.
Also my friends and relatives will mourn my sad downfall.
