St Attracta came from the North. Her father wanted her to marry some Lord but she fled home.She came on to Boyle, and thence to Monestraden. She built a church there.There is a well there to her honour.She came then to Tample. There is a well there also in her honour. She trod and prayed in many places in Tample. There is a cairn there shaped like an alter where Mass was celebrated in her time.
Kilbeagh: Little churchOcham Stones still to be seen. It was an idle spot with hills all round so that scouts could see the enemy coming. There is a stone in Bradys land with the impression of knees where St Attracta(continues on next page)
