- Once upon a time there was a boy who lived with his mother. He was her only son and on this account she was very fond of him.
He was very big and strong but he had one great fault, he was lazy.
One day, his mother sent him to thatch the house, but when the boy went up on the house his foot went in through the roof. He told his mother to put the churn-dash under his foot, she did so but as it was not strong enough it broke and he fell in through the roof.
Then she had a stack of oats which she wanted to get threshed and she told her son to thresh(continues on next page)- Collector
