The pig is a white animal. He eats potatoes and meal and drinks milk. In Summer he is very fond of wallowing in the mire. A pig's meat is very nice. This meat is called pork.
The goat is a small little animal with a short tail. He eats cabbage, turnips and grass. Some people kill the goats and get the hide and make gloves. The goat can be reared in poor land.
There are a good deal of sheep in Ireland especially in Wicklow, Galway, Kerry and Mayo. We get wool from sheep. They like warm weather and dry land to lie on. The wool of the sheep is spun into thread.
The ass is used for drawing small loads. Some people have no respect for the ass.
