   After the battle of Clontarf, two Danes fled, and they never stopped until they arrived at [?] fort in Kinaffe. They knew how to make beer from heather. The Kinaffe people who arrested them wanted to know from them how to make that beverage. The Danes would not tell them. They first asked the son how to make it, and his father told them, he did not know. He told them to kill him and then he would tell them how to make it himself. This they did, and then they asked the father and he said "Now ye can kill me". They killed the father also and from that day to this the people of Kinaffe
