to be singing and dancing, In the middle of the night a knock used to be heard at the door. Then a shou(t) used to be heard “The strawboys are outside.”
The man of the house used to open the door and the strawboys used to go into the house. There used to be a note handed to the man of the house demanding drink of him. He used to give them drink and then they used to sing and dance for him all night.
