    and set out from Athenry on horse back and he swore that he would have revenge and coming within a hundred yards of Newcastle on the old ancient road by the river he learned from a beggar man that his uncle was out for a walk by the river and he galloped up to him, drawing out his sword cut the head off him.
    After the Jordan's there came the Clark's, they knocked down the old castle, and built the present house.
    The next who came after the Clark's were a family called Rutledge, and after them came the Ó'Donnells who died there and was buried in Straid.
    The next who came was Captain Andrew Clark O'Mally, who fought in the penicle wars with his two brothers, namely, George General O'Mally, and Margem Bingan O'Mally.
    Captain Andrew had two sons, namely George and Owen. George died as a bachelor. Owen married Sarah Garvey sister of John Garvey crowned solicitor of Ballina.
    Owen died without issue.
    The next who came was Mr Brustor of Castlebar. When Brustor's terms were over there came Jacob
