    He looked around and saw the Leipreachán with his hammer and last mending shoes. He crouched up behind him and caught him. The Leipreacháns always start making excuses. This one too made an excuse.
    He told the man that there was a cross dog behind him and if he wouldn't leave the way the dog would bite him. The man knew his tricks too well and he didn't stir. He was there so long that at last he said he would bring the Leipreachán home with him. When the Leipreachán heard this he told the man where the gold was. He said it was under a certain tree.
