- There are many fords in the river their names are geideal, Ána croise, Á ciúín, Ana na sraith, gual an darraí, Bun Ugúl, Á Cill Sallach, and the garráuna. There is a heap of stones between gual an darraí and Bun Ugúl in memory of Daniel Carey who died there while fishing for the Alt na Brocha gentlemen. There is another heap of stones in Tamhnach in memory of an old man who was got buried there while cutting turf in the year 1905 and was then(continues on next page)
