- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)in the place Mr Harvey's house is now. He was born in Castlerea. He left that with a five-pound note and his pack. The first house he lodged in was burned and his five pound note. He got another from a neighbour and came on until he came to Louisburgh. He set up a little shop and fed the people until they were able to pay him. They used to take out the eyes out of the potatoes before they ate them so as to have seed for the next year. They used to go to Bundoragha for a stone of Indian meal. They had to go on foot and hardly any of them returned. They were sent there by Mr Carroll who lived in Louisburgh and was their relieving officer. There was emigration to America at that time. and a number of people went on ship and died on the way. Those that changed their religion were called jumpers. There was a Protestant Church in the Colony now called Bunlahinch. Mr Jordan and McGreal were Protestants. Mr Jordan was called "Bubble Jordan".
There is a grave in Mr Austin McHales field called Criogán (?) Seathrúin. There was a woman named Mary O'Malley who was(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
