- In olden times people got cures from local people instead of going to doctors. It is said that the seventh son of a family has a cure for ring worm. The old people used to say that if they found a stone boiled in a pot of potatoes it would cure toothache.
There was also a cure for thrush in a white gander.
The food that a ferret leaves behind him is supposed to cure the whooping cough. The holy well Killgeever is supposed to cure different ailments such as sciatica and sickness.
