- There are three fairy forts in this district - "Sogan Aifreann," "The Molly" and "Logan Ore". The three of them are in this townland. They are about four miles apart. In shape the are round and are surrounded by stones and black-thorn bushes. In the middle there is a circle of stones and it is supposed to be the hiding place of the Fir-Bolg. There is one fort in this district which is called the "Molly" and fairies were seen not long ago by the people of this district.
These forts were built by the Danes in olden times and it is supposed that the fairies came to live in them afterward.
The farmers who own the land where these forts cannot plough the land or set plants around them they are not supposed to take away any of the stones from around the forts. If they do so bad luck is suppose to fall on them. There was often singing heard in the "Molly" and music was also heard.- Collector
