  1. (continued from previous page)
    a little hymn.
    The wren, the wren,
    The King of the birds,
    On St Stephens Day
    Was caught in the furze.
Christmas comes but once a year.
When it comes it brings good cheer.
When it goes it leaves us here.
And what will we do for the rest of the year.
Then Christmas is over, but there is another feast on the 6th January twelve days after Our Lord was born.
