- (continued from previous page)have gradually been changed from thatched to slated roofs and were of the old type three rooms, one used as a kitchen or living room for the family. There is one wood in Ballinglen planted about a hundred years ago. It is called Glen Villa. It covers about two acres. There is a small hazel wood on the western hillside at Baile An Phorthaigh. Besides these there are occasional tress on every farm near the home.
Keerglen river runs through Ballinglen and on by Ballycastle to Ballycastle bay.
