- The leaves of the yew tree when withered are poison. Garlic is an herb very much valued by the country people. It is used for flatulence and colic also as flavouring for certain dishes. It is used for vaccinating calves as a preventative against black-leg.
A concoction made from tausy is a remedy from anaemia-bloodlessness. Moss off rocks make a pretty yellow dye. It is called "Oath na gdoc" (stone colour).- Collector
