- The Drowning in Lacken. It happend on the 28th October 1927. Four boats went out fishing. Three of them came safe. Eight men were drowned. When they went out it was calm but when they were out a while the wind rose and the boat was driven out from the land. They cried for help but the gale was so strong that the other boats did not hear them. The boat they were in was the smallest and the weakest of the boats. They fought the storm a long time.(continues on next page)
