- Long ago when a marriage would take place it used to be a great day. People who used to have a wedding used to have many couples invited.The girls and women used to wear cloaks, one of them long down to the ground, and the other shorter, and there used to be the cloaks for their heads, and they wore very strong boots.The men used to wear frocks, or long tailed coats called casogs.Horses that were used then, no cars, or no motors. The man that would be for getting married, would come riding on a horse for the girl, and she would sit up behind him. All the other couples riding on horses used to go after them to he chapel. Then when they would be coming back to the wedding house, they used to be striving for to see who would come(continues on next page)
