stood beside the old road passing by Bagnell's house. It was a protestant school and was built by the Jacksons about a hundred years ago. The last teacher was a Mrs. Ellis.
Children attended it up to about sixty five years ago when it was closed down. The teacher lived near the school. The little field is still known as Ellis's garden.
About a quarter of a mile above Ellis's garden there are the ruins of an old house in which about seventy five years ago there lived an ex-policeman named Joseph OHaire. The curate that was in this parish at that time was lodging in Joseph OHaire's house.
The curate was Fr. John Neelvin. After some time Joseph OHaire sold the house to a man named Anthony Healy whose son still owns the land but lives in Garracloon.
