Many years ago there lived a man who was very rich.

    (continued from previous page)
Next night he went out to mind the cows and about ten o'clock he saw a white cat coming into the stable to steal the milk . The man had a horse shoe in his hand and he threw at the cat and hit it on the head and it ran off and the next night the cows had the same amount of milk as ever . After a day or two he heard that the old woman next door was sick and swo he went to see her. When he went in she was in bed and she had a cloth on her head. The man asked her what happened her and she said " I may than your old horse shoe for that "
The man then knew who was stealing the milk.
