- Long ago in Ireland people had a great many superstitions or Pishroges. All the people believed in those customs and practised them.
1. If men are going to a fair early in the morning and if they meet a red haired woman they would have bad luck for the year.
2. If any old people throw water out at night they say
Cugath Cugath ón t-uisge té. They believe if this is not said the water will be thrown back on their faces.
