There was a very good thatcher living on Leitir-Caochán, about two miles from the school on the old road between Boughadoon and Newport.
His name was Michael Sheridan. His son Patrick Sheridan, who was also a very good thatcher died, aged about 55, a month or so ago. Michael got up to thatch a house. He thatched one-side on a day.
