- Roads in my district
There was an old road going along the foot of Tristia and it is the oldest road in the district. It is called bóthar Padraic or Saint Patricks road. It is said that a man carried two hundred weight of meal from Westport down to Derryhillagh and along the Tristia road he went a distance of twenty miles. There was another path going through Boughadoon, and a woman who got killed by a cross beast while going along this path was buried beside the path. This path is the old road that is going through Boughadoon now.
