- Long ago people had the churning done before sunrise. There are only a few parts in the churn namely the dash board, the handle and the lid. A person who usually makes butter would know by the sound of the cream in the churn when the butter is made. Les noise is made when the cream breaks. Then the dash board is moved up and down much more slowly until the butter forms itself into rolls.
Then the butter is taken out of the churn and after a number of washings in clean spring water it is slightly salted and thus prepared for(continues on next page)
