- Once upon a time there was a giant living two miles this side of Belmullet at Glencastle. He was a very strong man. His name was "Conán". The secret of his strength lay in his hair. No one knew the secret but his wife. His wife's name was "Muning".
One day a pirate captain came to the shore at Broadhaven bay, and he came to where "Conán" lived. The pirate bribed the giant's wife and at last she told him that the secret of his strength lay in his hair. The pirate told the woman to shave him while he(continues on next page)- Collector
