- The treasure is supposed to be hidden in the three Doons in Co. Tipperary where the Araglen river rises. It was placed there by Willie Brennan. He hid it there for safety as he was an outlaw. He was arrested in Clonmore Co. Tipperary and brought to Clonmel jail where he was tried and found guilty and sentenced to be hanged.
When the sentence was passed he spoke in Irish and asked if there were anyone in court from Doon and no one spoke. There was some old man of the Careys in court but he was afraid to talk. Brennan said that if there was anyone in court acquainted with that locality enough of gold to purchase half of Ireland was hidden in the three Doons.
Many people tried to unearth it some of whom are - Patrick Feeney, Patrick Duggan and Gregory Cahill. They stopped there for a week searching for it but they did not succeed but a short time after Patrick Feeney died.(continues on next page)- Collector
