    Hudden and Dudden and Daniel O'Neary were neighbours who lived in Ballinadough a long time ago.

    He put the corpse on his back and took it to Fermoy. He was in town before any one was up and he went up to Barnane well and placed the corpse in a stooping position at the well and went inside the ditch himself watching. While he was watching two rich merchant's wives came for a drink as it was their custom every morning. Seeing the old woman as they thought in the act of taking a drink of water the merchant's wives being in a hurry nudged the old woman with their hands and told her to hurry up. The moment the old woman was touched she fell into the well. Daniel sprung from behind ologoning and said "you have my mother drowned and I will have the law on you." The merchant's wives were so frightened that they offered Daniel £500 to keep his mouth shut. He took the money and went on a bigger spree than he ever did. Hudden and Dudden could not understand where Daniel was getting all the money. He told them that he got a lot of money
