    If a person stepped across another person when he would be lying down the latter would [not?] grow any bigger. This would also happen if you went under a ladder or opened an umbrella over your head inside a house.
    It is a custom to put out a band in a ribbon on St Brigets night (Brac Brigid referred to also from another district). Some people say that it is a great cure for headaches to put the band around your head.
    There is a wishing bone in every chicken or hen. When killed and cooked each person is trying to get the wishing bone. Then two people try to pull the wishing bone apart. The person who breaks off the greater portion will have his wish.
    It is the custom to eat three meals of nettles during May.
