- Knockboy git its name from the yellow blossom which grew on the furze. It was also called the Yellow Hill. There was also a field in Knockboy called the Fair Field. It was in that field the fair used to be held long ago. It was held there every month.
There is also another field in Knockboy called the Raobháin. It got its name from the long rushes which grew there. It is a very large bog and it contains about an acre of ground.
Tobar na Loch got its name from the well and river which flows through it. It contains only real spring water and most people come there for the water. It is in the village of Touraneena.
Druidmount got its name because the Druids used to dwell there long ago.
