- Hide and Go Seek is the game that we oftenest play at home. A great number can play this game. First of all those taking part stand against the wall while one player stands opposite the rest. He who stands alone says the following, beginning at himself and giving each one a word in rotation :
Hide and go seek
Around the reek
The butcher-man, baker
The candlestick-maker
They all jumped out
Of a rotten potato
Half a crown on Saturday night
And not a half-penny on Monday morning.
The person that 'morning' falls on is said to be 'out'. He then stands out and the rhyme is again repeated leaving each one out in turn. Finally there is only one left. He has to go to a separate corner while the rest go a-hide around the house. After about(continues on next page)- Collector
