   and after this the farmer and his wife were very rich and had all they needed.
   About a year afterwards they came again and the farmer's wife wouldn't let them in so they walked away. When the farmer came home he heard them talking about the two people. He went after them but they had found shelter in a neighbour's house.

   A poor man was walking along the road. He saw a farmer in a field. He asked the farmer for a penny but was refused. The man went until he came to a small house. He went in and asked for a penny. The woman had only two half-pennies which she gave him. Next morning the woman, having got up, was surprised to see a shilling on the window.
