- An Old TaleAccording to local tradition a great battle was fought at an old bridge in the Pound borheen near Durrow called "Augh Loum Liinn". That Oscar was supposed to have defeated his foe.
When the battle was fought and won an old writer composed the following verse:
"At Augh Loum Linn
That famous bridge
Where Oscar's sword of might
Hewed down the foe
Long years ago
In fierce and deadly fight."- Informant
