- There are a number of fairy forts in this district. They are called lioses. There is one in the townland of Kilmacleague. It is in a hollow. It seems to be empty in the middle but it is covered overhead with a flagstone and earth. It is all circular in shape. There is a path from the centre of the ring going over to the old church. It is a fairy path. The fairies live in this lios. There is an old verse connected with it. Here it is:
"The fairies once in it did dwell

Can see it from the forge".
