- There is a lake in the Gomeragh Mountains called "Crottys Lake". Saint Patrick put a serpent into the lake. The serpent asked him when would he be let out of it. Saint Patrick said on Monday, and the serpent said "Is fada an tá go tuain, agus is fada a duhairt naom Padraig." The serpent can be seen only every seventy-seven years.
