- JulianstownNapper Tandy was a Drogheda man. In Nov 1791 Tone & Tandy formed society of United Irishmen. Tandy was 1st Secretary. Grave in Julianstown Church-Yard almost unknown
In a railed in space in Church-yard may be seen a large stone erected by Napper Tandy to the memory of his family. After many adventures he died in a foreign land. His body was landed at night at Annagassean & coffin brought to Juliantstown. 1792; £50 was offered for his arrest-warrant signed by his own two neighbours - Foster of Collon & Conyghan of Slane. Arrested in Chancery Lane Dublin - asked togo into room for his hat, locked door, escaped by window- hunted & had to leave. An Irish emigrant afterwards landed in U.S.A wrote home. "I met with Napper Tandy. - Legend of Rock a BillBalor Beimeann - Farney - Cow & Calf. Evil eye - turned cow & calf immediately into granite - Light house to day.
