    Baskets and Straw hats.
    Long ago the Rushmen were famous for making baskets, which they made from sally rods. They also made straw hats, which were worn by the people during the Summer months.
    Woodwork
    Long ago many articles of wood were made by people named Hughes. This industry is still carried on by the same family.
    Thatching
    Nowadays there are many thatched houses in Swords which were in years gone by, thatched by the natives. There are few of these thatchers in Swords to-day.
