    So to Ireland's great loss one of her greatest heroes was sentenced to be hanged at Pentonville Prison at seven a.m. on August 3rd. 1916. And so Sir Roger was hanged. It was learned a day after his execution that the King had deprived him of his Knights hip. "For as such a traitor' as the English people styled it, "was not worthy of such honours". But if Sir Roger may seem a traitor to the Crown he is known to the Irish People as a hero and true son of Ireland.
