    Ready, Ready, brave deeds, to do,
    Were the men of the Dun-Laoghaire, Lifeboat Crew.

    They saw the flag of the sinking ship,
    Those brave men went on a fateful trip,
    To reach the ship in rain they tried,
    For they were baffled by a pitiless tide,
    Their boat was upset by an angry wave,
    And there was'nt a soul left to tell the tale.

    The fox has covered where he may hide,
    The sparrow feareth no wind nor tide,
    But the Lifeboat men are shelterless,
