    place to which he was to leave his name as that of a parish. Half of the town of Ballyshannon, that on the north bank of the River Erne, is to-day in the parish of Kilbarron—so does the remote past link on the Present—and nothing remains of the little church, but the four walls but are falling slowly but surely into decay.
    Standing on the rocky coast of Kilbarron, miles of sea stretch out there as far as an eye can reach, and there is a local pleasantry that on a clear day one can see America.
    No doubt, Barron stood there often, but, one day an urge came to him to go to sea. He set sail with a strong heart and a trust in God.
    Tradition tells of western lands founded by Saint Barron.
    Barron sailed west for fifteen days and found land,
