    or look out. The little woman then left the house. All that evening the woman kept thinking of her strange visitor and wondered very much what she meant by the noise [?]. That night when she was in bed she could not sleep. After some time she heard the sound of hammering and as if some stones were falling. She went to the window and looked out. In a field near the house she saw several sheep and they all seemed to be going in the direction that the hammering came from.. Eachsheep seemed to carry a stone on its back. She wondered where they were all going to so she opened the door and looked out. As soon as she opened the door the noise stopped and the sheep disappeared. Next morning she went out to the field to see if there was anything there. All along the field she noticed that there were large building stones strewn about. In the corner of the field she found a wall newly built as if it were the foundation of a new house. The woman was sorry then because she believed that is she had not opened the door the fairies would have built
