- (continued from previous page)home from the fair.He met the donkey, and he knew it was his own so he took him back. Paddy Ward came along and he took the donkey and cart from him and went to Strabane fair. When he arrived there he was too late for the market and he could not get the pigs sold. He turned home. On his way home he went astray. He saw a house and he came to it. He saw an old woman in it. He asked her could she keep him and the donkey and pigs till morning. She said she could. This old woman told him to take the donkey down to the room and that she would watch the pigs herself. He took down the donkey to the room and tied it to the bed. The room was full of water and he had to jump to get into the bed himself. He was not long in bed until he saw a pale faced man beside him. This man shook his finger at him to come out. He arose and leaped out of the bed and the pale-faced man was still waiting for him. When he came up to the kitchen the old woman asked him why did he rise again.(continues on next page)
