    About one hundred years ago there was a smith who lived in Golands and manufactured iron and steel into a lot of articles.

    reached the boat-house the tide was in and was very rough and stormy to cross. There were six more passengers that wanted to get to the fair but the boat man thought it too rough to row. They waited a while but the tide was all the time rough so he told the passengers it was too dangerous. But he said he had another conveyance. He had a big lengthy white horse tied in the stand and Mohan vowed to God he never saw a horse half as long. He pulled him out and asked them would they volunteer. He put on a long side-saddle which I am after describing. Five of the passengers and the driver leaped on. Mohan was a little shaky but they shouted at him for to not miss the fair so he leaped on. He had very little room for he was beside the horse's tail. Off the seven started for to cross the ferry and plunged in. The first stroke the horse gave to swim Tam was thrown off the seat but by good luck, he caught the white tail. The horse swam on and Mohan held on by the tail till he reached the fer shore. He moved up to the fair in great shape and through the
