When the people about here are going to a fair with cattle they tie some thread to their tail. Then when the cow goes away or any thing happens they can get her. Some people put a nick in their horn and some people tie a rope round their feet and put ceel on their rump. There used to be fairs on a peak in Letterbarrow but, when the fair would come off, none of the people used to come to it.- Collector
