    who went from house to house selling small articles. “Pedlars” were people who went through the country selling cloth and clothes. “Dealers in feathers” were people who went from house to house gathering feathers, to make feather beds. “Dealers in rags” were people who went about gathering rags to send to the paper factories.
    The coins were known by various names. A make which was a halfpenny. A wing which was a penny. A tanner which was a sixpence. A lob [?] which was a shilling. A cross or half dollar which was two shillings. A wheel which was a crown. The tenpenny and fourpenny are now gone out of use.
