    Mrs Likely does all the churning herself. It takes her about a quarter of an hour to churn churn three pounds of butter. She does all her churning by hand. If strangers walked in when Mrs Likely would be churning they would help her to churn and if they knew Irish they would say Bhail a Dhia ar an obair
    Water is poured in hot as can be when churning if the butter cant be seen breaking on the top. Here is how they know when the butter is made. When pulling the churn dash up and down little specks of butter can be seen on the dash.
    The top of the churn is called the chim and the bottom is called the bun. The churn-dash has to be washed very well before churning or if not it would souer the milk. Mrs Likely sells butter in the Summer because the cows give more milk than the do in the winter. She sells the butter at one shilling and
