    told them all about it. One of the women pulled the bonnet off Jamie’s head and left him sitting in his shirt. Then the police came on Jamie and he got jail for seven years. On the day Jamie was going to jail everyone gathered to see him off. When the police were bringing Jamie to prison the two ladies came and put the bonnet on his head and he got away. The two women were very good to him after. They gave him a five pound note and kept him forever after that. My father told me this story and he often heard Jamie himself telling it.
