    disappeared and could not be got untill he was coming home and it was left back in the same place as he had it at dinner-time. An old man lived in grandfather’s house. One day he had been to his friend’s house a few miles away, the old lady there had some nice sprigging thread and he wanted some of it to put on his fishing rod for his hooks. She said when she had finished she would leave him what would do. So, next morning, when he got up and went to take a smoke out of his pipe, the thread was rolled round the pipe for him.
