fairy lights used to be seen on it at night.
People, long ago, used to see little men with red tunics, dancing round the fort in the moonlight. One evening, a little child living near by wandered near the fort, and was never heard of again. People are now afraid to go near it, as they think some misfortune befalls those who visit it.
There is a hazel tree, and a hawthorn tree near the fort. Even to this day the sound of sweetest music and laughter of the fairies can be heard from this hill on a moonlight night.
